Hello, Friends and Family!
As we get closer to the date, we want to make sure that you all know what to pack as you make preparations for joining us in Idaho. The venue is pretty darn lux, but there are still a few things you should make sure to bring and consider.
- Sun protection – there will be plenty of shade, but you’ll still need protection from the hot July sun, so bring sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Bug protection – it’s summer and we’ll be by a river. ‘Nuff said.
- Bathing suit – with so many opportunities to splash around (rivers, hot tubs, hot springs), you’d be nuts not to take advantage!
- Hiking stuff – boots, water bottle, binoculars, headlight, etc.
- Warm clothing – it will be very hot during the day, but it may get a bit chilly at night, so make sure to bring a sweater or light coat, pants, and socks.
- Camping gear – if you are camping, please make sure to bring the basics (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, etc.). If you need a tent, please let us know.
- Coolers – for those of you traveling a shorter distance, bringing a cooler is a great idea, both for those daytime beverages that don’t fit in the fridge, and for transporting food to the river!
- Fishing gear – there’s good fishing to be had in the area, and you’ll be able to get a cheap temporary license in town, so bring your gear if you are interested! (You can also rent gear.)
- Food and alcohol – we will provide some basics like coffee, bread, pb&j, yogurt, granola, and some snacks in each cabin. We’ll supply a simple dinner of some sort on Thursday for those who don’t choose to dine at the restaurant, and a BBQ dinner on Friday. Of course, Saturday is the wedding and we’ll supply a delicious dinner and alcohol! Sunday we’re treating everyone to breakfast buffet. We’ll send out a schedule of events and more details soon. All other meals will be up to you! You can either eat in the restaurant during their open hours–though they require a day’s notice–or you can head into town for provisions.
- WiFi and cell service – there is no cell service, and very limited WiFi located in the restaurant. Please be sure to download your maps ahead of time, and prepare to be off the grid for the days you’re with us! If you need to be reached while at the venue, the main phone is 208-926-4300.
- Timezone – please keep in mind that the venue is on Pacific Time. This is particularly important for those of you coming from Missoula and Boise (which are on Mountain Time)!
- Things not to bring – all cabins are stocked with the following: shampoo, conditioner, soap, dishware, blow dryer, ear plugs, a couple of hangers per cabin, bedding, towels for the shower and hot tubs, and we’ll make sure to have a couple irons around to get those wrinkles out of your duds for the wedding day!
If you do forget to bring something, never fear: the super market in Kooskia has most everything you will need. Please contact us if you have any additional questions!
